    Departure Date

    Travel Start Date

The meaning of Start Date is different for Single Trip and Annual Multi-Trip policies.

    Single Trips

For Single Trips the Travel Start Date is the date you start your travel (i.e.. the date you leave home).

Cover under Section 5 - Cancelling And Cutting Your Trip Short begins from the time you buy your policy. i.e. the issue date of the policy as shown on the Certificate of Insurance.

Cover under all other sections begins from the Travel Start Date you select.

    Annual Multi-Trips

For Annual Multi-Trips the Travel Start Date defaults to the same date as the date the policy is issued. This is for your protection in relation to Section 5 — Cancelling And Cutting Your Trip Short.

For further information, we recommend you read the definition of 'Period of Insurance' and 'Relevant Time' in the Policy Wording.

"Period of Insurance" In respect of Single Trips, from the time that You leave Your home or the start date shown on Your Certificate of Insurance (whichever occurs last) until the time You return to Your home or the end date shown on Your Certificate of Insurance (whichever occurs first). In respect of Annual Multi-Trips, form the time that You leave Your home or the start date shown on Your Certificate of Insurance (whichever occurs last) until the earliest of the following times:

    1. the time You return to Your home, or
    2. the expiry of the maximum insured duration per Trip (this maximum duration is shown on Your Certificate of Insurance), or
    3. the end date shown on Your Certificate of Insurance, or
    4. the end of the 120th travel day insured by this policy.

Cover under Section 5 begins from the time the policy is issued.

    "Relevant Time" in respect of:

    1. Single Trip policies means the time of issue of the policy.
    2. Annual Multi-Trip policies means the first time at which any part of the relevant trip is paid for or the time at which the policy is issued, whichever occurs last.
